WHERE THE SIDEWALK ENDS (1950)

Dana Andrews and Gene Tierney finished a five film team-up with Otto Preminger's WHERE THE SIDEWALK ENDS, which might seem similar to LAURA, where a tough cop and a beautiful women are entangled in a murder, but couldn't be more different: she's protecting him this time, and yet, she doesn't even know it.

Dana Andrews' uncredited brother Steve Forrest plays a Nazi soldier, without lines, about to get a knife in SEALED CARGO... so the brothers never actually share screen-time, but it's the first and only time they're in the same movie.

SWAMP WATER (1941)

Twilight Time's SWAMP WATER is one of several Dana Andrews movies given their limited edition Blu Ray treatment, and now prices over seventy bucks: Directed by French import Jean Renoir (escaped from Nazi occupied France) sans a few studio inserts, it's pretty entertaining, taking place in a rural town nearby a dangerous southern swamp, where nothing survives but escaped convict Walter Brennan, taking in Dana... the stubborn but kindhearted son of equally stubborn Walter Huston... who eventually realizes his future FALLEN ANGEL cohort John Carradine holds all the cards.
